Let it snow...

This is what I woke up to this morning.. Granted, I did sleep in until 7am today, but still.. THIS IS NOT what I thought I would be looking at when I got up..

OK, to be honest.. I did get up at 4:03am to give Sasha some food, which by the way is STILL sitting in her bowl.. She really doesn't like anything but the pate type food..

So in honor of the snow.. This is Friday's card.. Not real thrilled with it.. I guess.. but it will do.. for a quick card.. I would have done 2 different size squares for the window next time.. but it works..

Book... Chipmunk...

Well, I finished the book.. I can't believe all the drugs that she did, and that she lived through it!! I am talking a lot of drugs!! She was pretty open about it. It is amazing that she kept out of the headlines for everything she did.. Then you look at people like Danny Bonaduce.. I am sure that by what Maureen said, she did at least as much cocaine as he did!! I guess she just lucked out that the National Enquire wasn't hounding her!!

Any way.. the book was OK.. it was sort of well.. Bradyish!! If that makes any sense..

Well we have this rotten little Chipmunk at our house!! AND I mean rotten!! Today he was skirting around on the deck, jumping on the screen door.. eating my plants.. and stealing a towel... He torturers the squirrels... and is VERY noisy!!

You would think that by looking at how cute he is.. he would be a nice chipmunk... BUT NOOOOO!!!

Sasha seemed to like watching him be naughty!! It sort of startled her when he jumped on the screen!!

She is still feeling yucky!! Hoping that she will feel better later tonight or tomorrow.. otherwise.. back to the vet tomorrow..

Friday Bad News... and something cute!

Well, yesterday, Friday, we were driving home from Sam's Club. We were stopped by Seasonal Concepts, STOPPED I remind you, and this lady clipped the edge of my car! She said, "OH, it's just a little scratch!" Please notice the chunk of bumper gone! Thank God that Pat was driving and with me! I wasn't happy! No one was hurt, just my car! She was worried that her insurance was going to go up! HELLO!! My entire bumper will need to be replaced! YES your insurance will go up! YOU hit someone who was NOT moving! I didn't really talk to her! I was just too upset!

NOW, on the funny side of things.. I remember an email that Karen sent me.. about an accident with a dwarf!! It was a joke.. something about him getting out of the car and saying , "I'm not "Happy" and that was how the fight started... so anyway.. I wasn't happy, but at least I am not a dwarf to go with that! AND, I am glad that no one was hurt, it is only a car. There are a lot more things in life more important! (I am trying to channel Randy Pausch here). I guess I just think of the inconvenience that this will cause!

But on the cute side of things.. We have a turkey family that is staying close by! The male started off in our yard the other morning. I went to get the camera, because really, turkeys in my yard still is just awesome! He walked across the street and went over by the raspberry bushes.. I slowly tried to get a good picture of him, when I saw the second head.. They started moving toward the trees, when I saw the little one! You can barely make it out by the turkey on the left! BUT, it was SO cute! A turkey family!! I guess I never really thought about turkey families before! But right here! I am keeping a watch out for them.. I am hoping to see them again!

AND, I got my pre order Stampin Up stuff.. and my catalogs.. I am going to TRY to make some stuff this weekend.. NO promises, but at least I am going to try!

Moon Flower

About 15 years ago, my Mom gave me some moon flower seeds! Every year, I plant (OK, I really just throw the seeds out and what grows grows) these seeds. And every year I save the pods which have the seeds for the next year. Some years I get a lot of little bushes, and other years I just get a few. I never know from year to year what will happen. Anyway, these flowers bloom at dusk, and only for 1 day, then they wither and turn into the seed pods.

This is my first flower this year! I was surprised that it bloomed already. I just noticed that it was getting big enough on Friday.. So image my surprise when I saw this flower. I noticed that it has 3 more buds on it. The flowers are large too, they are about the size of a diner plate! I also thought I should look at my "garden" area... I have a few more plants that a springing up.. so I am hoping that soon, I will have a lot more of the flowers.

The nice thing about these.. the deer don't bother them at all. Unlike my lily's or my hosta. I should really "plant" more of these each year...

More raspberries

My neighbor across the street has been gone for a week, and will be gone for another week. She called and asked if I would want to pick her raspberries while she was gone.. I love raspberries so it was a no brainer. Well Hannah and I have been picking every other day.. this was the pickings from the 4th time we picked.. this is a usual haul! I have frozen some, eaten A LOT, and today am going to make some sorbet! They are wonderful! I am so lucky! I will have to make her a card of thanks! It might be raspberry stained, I am not sure! We will pick tomorrow because Hannah has dance on Tuesday. It's more fun to pick with someone.. and I don't want to go too late because of the bugs.. And there are some really creepy bugs on those bushes!

And tonight Army Wives is on! I can't wait. Denise's son is set to return.. and there is this little issue with a young doctor...

Elephant Birthday Card and the ducks are back!

Hannah has another birthday party to go to, and well.. guess what the favorite animal is?? YUP an elephant!! We got Megan a Webkins, elephant of course and a couple other things! Anyway, I used the gift card holder idea as a birthday card! I think it turned out really good! (and I will be making a ton of these gift card holders for teachers!)

Then Pat mentioned that we have visitors under our deck.. Those 2 ducks from way back, well, they are now hanging out under the deck.. right outside the window!! It's great to watch them!!

Other than that.. pretty normal boring usual Monday!

Front Yard Visitors

I have this little (ok big FAT) problem in my yard this year.. It's cute and fluffy, but this little fat monster is eating my plants!! I know that it is the same bunny (it has some tuffs of fur hanging on it's neck) I see almost every day.. munching away!! Enjoying my plants!! I will be lucky if I get hosta to come up at all!!

And then there are the deer.. Last night when I came home from watching my friend's son's soccer game, we had deer hanging out. There were about 4-5 total. Pat was able to get some pictures of them. Cars were stopping, letting them wander across the street, and they just stood there.. Not a care in the world.. I believe that these darling "Bambi's" are also eating my plants. But they prefer my flowers over the hosta..

Gretel thinks they are there to play with her. She has run after them a time or two!! I think she thinks they are greyhounds or that she is a deer.. And actually, they do sort of look alike.. Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of these wonderful creatures??? Or at least make it so they don't eat my plants up??

A little of this... A little of that...

Well I thought I would show you and update of my orchid.. It is coming along very nicely.. It is getting more blooms every day.. And it is so pretty.. I love to look at it and think about how nice it is.. EVEN if the weather is crappy here..

I keep waiting for my magnolia to bloom. I drive around and see others in full bloom, but mine is just barely starting. There are a lot of buds..

And today.. I went out to take the pictures of my non blooming magnolia.. and sure enough.. a bud that is starting to open.. It is really starting to bloom!!! Spring may finally be here!!!

And well, Gret Gret... what can I say.. she is just so cute sometimes!!

Duck, Duck, Tooth...

DUCK.... DUCK...

Hannah was so excited today! We were getting ready to go to dance class, when she yelled, "There are ducks in the back yard!"

Sure enough, we have 2 ducks living in the back yard! In the corner there is a fenced area that is filled with leaves, and the female duck was in the middle, I am guessing with a nest! I hope that no one bothers them, and we will soon have a little duck family! I wonder how Grets will like that!

TOOTH

One of Hannah's "fangs" is now history! When we got home from dance tonight, she pulled the little sucker out! One down, one to go...

Wonder what the tooth fairy will leave tonight!
